Meet Your Instructor
Dr. Fabio Correa studied foreign languages in Colombia and received a Bachelors degree (Licenciado) in foreign languages (English and French). Professor Correa worked at the Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia after completing a six-month teacher’s exchange program in the USA. He came to the USA in 1991 to complete his graduate studies at Arizona State University where he received a M.A. in Linguistics (1993) and a Ph.D. in Spanish Language and Culture (1997).
You can tell that Dr. Correa really cares about his students as well as the subjects that he teaches. The kind of passion that he has for teaching is refreshing and makes learning a new language comfortable and fun.

Dr. Correa’s extensive teaching career includes working for nine years as an AP Spanish Language and AP Spanish literature teacher at a college preparatory school in Phoenix, as well as teaching Spanish at Phoenix College and Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Dr. Correa has taught all levels of Spanish in various modalities including online, hybrid and face-to-face. He has attended several seminars and conferences in online teaching, including a certification from Quality Matters. Dr. Correa also teaches a Humanities course on Hispanic film. He has traveled throughout Latin America and Europe and has participated in professional programs abroad in Spain and the Czech Republic. Dr. Correa is fluent in Spanish and English and speaks French and Portuguese.
